Stern Pinball Press Release

NEW YORK TIMES FEATURES STERN PINBALL

May 2, 2008 - On April 25th Stern Pinball, Inc. was featured on the front page and inside the first section of the New York Times. The article, "For a Survivor in the Pinball Industry, the Game Isn't Over," demonstrates that the public remains highly interested in pinball and its continued success. The New York Times also featured a teaser of the SPIDER-MAN pinball machine on the front page of the newspaper and photographs of SHREK and INDIANA JONES in the body of the article itself.

Journalist Monica Davey opens the article: "Being inside a pinball machine factory sounds exactly as you think it would. Across a 40,000-square-foot warehouse here, a cheery cacophony of flippers flip, bells ding, bumpers bump and balls click in an endless, echoing loop. The quarter never runs out."

Gary Stern is then interviewed, commenting on the history of pinball, as well as its strong future. "Mr. Stern said the notion underlying this game was universal, lasting. In 10 years, he said, pinball will be fine. His company will be here, cranking out pinball machines. Fifty years hence? …He said he was certain of one thing: Pinball will be around."

Roger Sharpe is also interviewed about the history of pinball, as well as Tim Arnold, owner of the Pinball Hall of Fame in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Gary Stern comments on the New York Times article, "Articles such as the one in The New York Times both indicate the public's love of pinball, and generate further interest for game play and ownership. We have received lots of calls from readers and they want to know where they can find pinballs to play. There is demand."
