... contestants on American Idol will visit Graceland
to learn about the King of Rock n' Roll™, Elvis Presley.
May 5, 2006 - This weekend the four remaining
contestants on American Idol will visit Graceland to learn about the King
of Rock n' Roll™, Elvis Presley. This fact demonstrates the power that
Elvis still has even today, as well as the vast appeal that Stern's ELVIS®
Pinball Machine has for both operators and homeowners.
The American Idol contestants will have to perform two Elvis songs each
on the show the following Tuesday, May 8th. The show is carried on the
Fox Network every Tuesday and Wednesday of the week.
In the summer of 2002, a British hit called Pop Idol landed on our shores
and became not only an instant success, but one of the biggest shows in
American television history. The grueling competition has crowned Kelly
Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia and Carrie Underwood successively,
and has grown bigger and bigger each season. Last year, over a billion
votes were received throughout the contest, and millions of viewers tuned
in to see whether Carrie or Bo would win, making American Idol the #1
show in America. This year, tens of thousands of hopeful singers auditioned
in seven cities. There are only four contestants left now.
