Pinball Circus at SS Billiards Hopkins (Minneapolis), MN October 18–19, 2008 On Saturday the day is filled with all the Pinball Circus amenities. The entrance fee provides you with pinball's on free play, hot dogs, popcorn, pop, magical disappearing pizza, one day TOPS tournaments, goose egg event, Saturday Night Pinball tournament, Pinball Circus tournament, all day long drawings for event T shirts and mugs and other pinball related prizes, and Midnight Madness. Admission is $25 for a weekend pass or $15 for a single day, which gets you access to over 130 arcade games and pinball machines all set to free play!   We will be adding Classic Console games to the mix this year! Game systems. This includes Atari 2600, 5200, 7800, ColecoVision, Vectrex, Intellivision, and other classic consoles.   You can also participate in arcade and pinball tournaments, win door prizes, try your luck at a game raffle to win a full stand up arcade or pinball.  We doubled out vendor booth and tournament space this year, we will have tons of arcade and pinball parts, Manuals and memorabilia. Even great general memorabilia and comic books.  There will be concessions and a full bar available for you to purchase refreshments.  There aren't many opportunities to enjoy large collections of classic arcade games, so if you are in the Houston area (or can get there!), you should be at this expo! The FMPT is endorsed by the IFPA and WPPR, so the top four players earn 2.08, 1.25, 0.83, and 0.42 rankings points each month, the rest of the top half of players receive 0.04 points, and all other players will receive 0.02 points just for playing!  There is also a raffle, for which all players are eligible, with giveaways from Stern Pinball and "Tilt: The Battle to Save Pinball." The FMPT occurs at John's Place Restaurant, one of the premier Mid Atlantic pinball locations, in Fairfax, VA.  At the beginning of the tournament, players play matches with random opponents, game pick, and play order.   They get 0-8 points per match based on their performance, and then are ranked and split into small divisions (up to 5!).  The players play matches within their divisions, still on random games, but with selected play order and the top players in those rounds play for the division championship.  The top 2 in each division win cash and the winner of each division gets a plaque. Colorado's largest public collection of well-maintained pinball games.  The current game line up is 36 pinball games from the 1960s to 2000s, plus 2 more pin-games at Lyons Classic Video at Oskar Blues Restaurant (next door), which features over 20 classic 1980s video game titles. Tournament Details... Entry fee: $5.00 plus cost of games played. Games: All pinball games are open to the tournament. Each player randomly selects the games played by drawing from a hat. Format: Double elimination. Cash prize: Winner takes all (based on number of entries). No advance registration is required. Registration starts at approximately 7:00pm the evening of the event.
